Impact HUB Global Network
Impact HUB was born in London, UK in 2005 and has since grown into one of the world’s largest global networks for entrepreneurs, spanning over 100 cities worldwide. More than just a shared office, it’s a place where people share learning, experiences, knowledge, and networks in the midst of tackling challenges that drive social change. As part of this organic global ecosystem, we operate as a member of this worldwide community and network since 2013.
The Impact Hub Global network, particularly its APAC cluster, is fostering growth through increased cross-border collaboration and joint program development with partners. This collective effort allows us to utilize an extensive network of talent, opportunities, and possibilities to create change on a multi-polar scale.
CEO MESSAGE
When did “globalization” become shorthand for Western values and the logic of the economically privileged?
We are living through a violent wave of change. The “right” answers we once trusted are rewritten overnight. Words like “global” and “impact” risk becoming commoditized – repeated, diluted, detached from responsibility.
For more than a decade, Hub Tokyo has operated as a living ecosystem for authentic impact, from our 1,100㎡ space to a network of 100+ locations worldwide. Today, that is our baseline, not our ambition.
Our next step is to remain a community that embraces change, while becoming the ANCHOR to ground bold ideas so they take root, and build social infrastructure resilient enough to endure.

OUR HISTORY
Hub Tokyo Co., Ltd. was co-founded by Shino Tsuchiya and Shingo Potier de la Morandière.
2012
The Birth of Impact HUB Tokyo
A former printing factory was renovated and opened as the world’s 37th Impact HUB, and the 1st Impact HUB in Asia Pacific.
Serving as a “secret base” for social entrepreneurs, it became a pioneer of co-working spaces in Japan at a time when such spaces were still rare. This marked the beginning of a vibrant community where people from diverse backgrounds came together to connect, learn, and take on new challenges.
Deepening Entrepreneur Support and
Building Culture
Centered around Team360, an early-stage entrepreneur support program, Impact HUB Tokyo established a hands-on mentoring model driven by collective intelligence. At the same time, Fuckup Nights Tokyo was launched, helping foster a culture in Japan where failure could be openly shared, reflected upon, and transformed into learning.

Advancing the “Democratization of Innovation”
Through Local Hubs
With a commitment to the “democratization of innovation,” we expanded our efforts into regional cities by developing local hubs. We played a key role in launching SUNABA in Shiojiri, Nagano, and FUSE in Hamamatsu, helping build local ecosystems where learning and experimentation continuously reinforce one another.
Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, we remained fully operational—evolving our model from simply providing places to work into cultivating communities where people learn and grow together.
Recognized as a Tokyo Metropolitan Government
– Certified Incubation Facility
In recognition of our long-standing track record in entrepreneur support and our unique approach to community management, Impact HUB Tokyo was officially certified as an incubation facility by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 2022.
Evolving Leadership, Expanding Impact
2023
Becoming a HUB Connecting Local and Global
Following a major renovation, Communita Cafe was opened as a space welcoming the local community. It has since grown into a vibrant gathering place for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and diverse creatives.
Our first Art residency program was launched in support of Tokyo Arts Council, inviting multi-media artists to work on socially engaged art projects and initiatives.
A New Generation of Leadership,
Shaping the Next Impact
In 2024, Impact HUB Tokyo transitioned to a new generation of leadership with Yuko Mishio appointed as Representative Director.
Through global hub offerings, real estate initiatives, entrepreneur support, and art-driven projects, we aim to become a HUB that fosters ecosystems extending beyond physical spaces.
Where People Connect — A Community Cafe in Tokyo
Hub Tokyo developed the Communita brand, led the café’s spatial renovation design, created its menu concepts, and established the full operational framework. From concept to execution, it represents our hands-on approach to building spaces where community and collaboration can thrive.
