Women’s Entrepreneurship Research (Cartier + INSEAD)

TIMELINE

September 2018 – January 2019

CHALLENGE

• In-depth qualitative interviews with a human-centric lens.
• Entrepreneur-to-entrepreneur research methodology.
• Mapping ecosystem connectivity and systemic barriers.

OUR APPROACH

Hub Tokyo conducted rigorous ecosystem research on the specific challenges faced by female founders in Tokyo. By analyzing the intersection of government policy, investment patterns, and cultural expectations, we identified the critical friction points that traditional market research often overlooks.

IMPACT

Our findings highlighted the fragmentation of support systems and the significant mental health toll of social biases. These insights were integrated into a global white paper with INSEAD, directly influencing Cartier’s international strategy for empowering women entrepreneurs.
